Composition Notes
This is about the lunacy of the very rich wanting to make rockets fly in rockets or travel to other planets. Which I find ridiculous but it's part of the endless march of technology that we appear to need in our world.
The melody is the lovely Irish tune "Will You Go Lassie Go" also known as Wild Mountain Thyme. I set it to a dance beat and I think it works. Lots of synths including synth bass. I had a gadget at the time called a Voicelive so that's where all the vocal harmonies come from. The Japanese name came from the novel Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami which I read around that time.

Fly baby fly
“hey Toru Watanabe”
V1 We belong to this world
But we’re all in love with rockets
They can take us far away
For the fortune in our pockets
We will fly baby fly!
CH and we all dream together
Of a life in the heavens
Where there’s no sadness and no crying
We will fly baby fly!
V2 we will bring the Harvest Home
From the pods inside the mountains
Though the atmosphere is toxic
We will drink from chocolate fountains
just like nineteen thirty nine
CH and we’ll all dream together ......
V3 We’ve done well we’ve made a pile
now we move to buy the planet
While you all Remote destruct
That’s the way to plan it
On the high Chaparral
CH and we’ll all dream together ......
