Lord take me up 62

V1 Lord take me up I want to see your glory

Lord Take me up I wanna hear the story

Lord please let me come, come before your throne

Lord Oh when it’s time, when you take me home

V2 Lord in your power, I’d like to meet my father

I didn’t know him here and round your throne we’ll gather

There are Countless millions there with the father and the son

In that happy hour when my time has come

[instrumental]

V3 I’ve not been good, sometimes not decent living

When you judge my life, I hope you’ll be forgiving

Please do bless me then, In your great compassion

Lord when its time time to take me home

Lord when its time time to take me home

Composition Notes: This is a contemporary worship song drawing on the many Gospel songs that deal with death and dying. Home being a euphemism for heaven and death. In life I never met my father so it's a plea to finally meet him in death but of course it raises the question of how many people are there in heaven or hell for that matter.

The chords in verse 3 are different although the melody stay the same and this is a device used in many arrangements of traditional hymns to add drama.
